AVAILABILITY OF
ZERACIOUS PUPPIES
Zeracious only breed once or twice  a year. We seldom  have puppies available. However, Staffords are  a great passion of ours and we'd  love you to look at our dogs,  or to hear from you....

A WORD OF WARNING:

Take care from whom
you buy your Stafford.

Respectable breeders
have NO  need to pressurised buyers into making a rushed decision, or into making huge payments upfront to secure a pup - respectable breeders want their pups to go to homes where the family is completely ready and happy to receive it... do your homwork and THINK TWICE before you part with your money!

THE SBT
BREED STANDARD EXPLAINED

ZERACIOUS - THE PEOPLE

ZERACIOUS
is made up from
COETZER (our surname) And FRANCOIS

The ZERACIOUS family consist of Frans, Griet, Rita and Francois.
We live in Westville, a village just outside Durban, South Africa.

Established by Frans & Griet Coetzer and is registered
with the Kennel Union of Southern Africa   since January 1992

JUDGING:
Frans has qualified to judge Staffordshire Bull Terriers & Bull Terriers at Championship Show level, whilst still persevering to get through the rest of the Terrier Group.

Griet is qualified to award tickets in the Working and Terrier Groups
and is presently working on the Hounds Group.

Staffords have been our family's hobby for many years now.
We enjoy going to dog shows, spending quality time with our dogs,
getting them to look their best and having dear friends with the same passion at heart.

We like to believe that Showing and Breeding Staffords is an Art!
(Which demands an eye for Type, Balance, Style, Soundness, Condition and Temperament,
as well as ALL the luck you can get
).

We have an average of 10 Staffords in our house,
along with 4 Miniature Pinchers, brown headed parrots and Francois'  Iguana.
All our dogs live in harmony and, when Frans or Griet are at home, they all have free run of the house.

We give our dogs, like our children, a lot of affection, understanding,
tuition, rewards, consisantt treatment, discipline and guidance!
Although they are allowed to play, we stop them when they get  too boisterous.
We believe that our success in having this many Staffords together
lies in the fact that we see ourselves as the pack leaders (including the children)

Frans & Griet served on the KZN SBTC (for more than 9 years), Frans being The Chairman for most of that time and Griet producing the Club's newsletter, 'Up To Scratch' as well as initiating various projects,
such as The Champions Extravaganza, Pets Expo Stand, Stafford Regalia and Free Educational Booklets

We are lucky in that we compliment each other; Frans has a flair for memorizing names and pedigrees. Frans also copes well with the traveling and organizing side of their show weekends. We both handle the dogs, whilst Griet is the one who ensures that the Staffords are in tip top condition, fit, healthy and trained.
Griet takes presentation seriously and believes that this can make all the difference between getting the ticket or not!

Rita is a keen handler for all breeds and well known around the SA Show ring.
Rita's childhood dream came true when she won the sought after SA Nat Jnr Handlers Competition
in November 2003 - Rita represented South Africa at the International Junior Handlers
event at CRUFTS in March 2004.

We are extremely proud of Ritas' achievement!

Francois (jnr) is not keen on  the 'handling thing'. Francois is much happier outside the show ring (on safer ground) where he can take photographs of the dogs. He also loves playing with the dogs. Francois loves having the Min Pins sleep with him and Judy (who he calls 'Snooty" ) is his favorite Stafford.
